The device enables quick and precise temperature measurement without risk by using one of two methods: superficial temporal artery measurement (forehead area) and auricular measurement (external ear canal). The thermometer can also be used to measure room or object temperature, such as the temperature of milk in a baby bottle.

Measurement is extremely fast — about 1 second. It features 3 light indicators: green for 35.0°C–37.5°C, orange for 37.6°C–38.0°C, and red for 38.1°C–42.0°C. Stores up to 40 temperature readings. Temperature can be displayed in either Celsius or Fahrenheit.
